Since 2005, the ICAO Annex 6, Chapter 10.3, recommends flight dispatchers to perform “within the preceding 12 months, at least a one-way qualification flight in the flight crew compartment of an aeroplane over any area for which that individual is authorized to exercise flight supervision”.
Our flight dispatcher Aggy was the first of eight dispatchers this year to swap their seats in our offices in Hanover, Germany, with a jump-seat on an Air Finland flight (B757-200). Aggy took the chance to monitor the flight crew procedures and radio communications and was able to observe the actions of the flight crew on a trip Helsinki-Salzburg.
Over the next months, all of our flight dispatchers will receive their this-year’s flight deck hours on different Air Finland flights.
